After rather unexciting games of late, the Baltic finally managed to keep a clean sheet and got all three points in a victory that can only be described as well deserved.
An early 1800 kick off combined with a kit that seems to be for a 7-a-side team had us coming off a bad start but it didn’t take more than a couple of minutes before we were in control. It didn’t take more than about 15-20 minutes before we were up 1-0. Mikey Oliver (Howe Rob) and Natt Twiggs (Pacific Basin) made a few passes forward and with a precise paw, Mikey placed the leather beautifully in the right corner.
In the second half the Baltic kept pushing but it wasn’t before 10 minutes in that recent signing Adam Murphey (NYK Line) scored one of the best goals this season. Having been given a long ball on the left side he went into cruise control mode all the way over the keeper to the back of the net.
After the second goal, the speed went a bit off the game and with only Tom Buckley (GFI) missing a few good chances, the victory was never in danger.
All in all a satisfying result. With a small improvement to our passing we should be in the race for the top spot.
