The Baltic Exchange and the UK Chamber of Shipping will host an evening briefing on sanctions, 1730 – 2000, Tuesday 18 November at the UK Chamber of Shipping.
International trade and shipping businesses are exposed to increasingly complex sanctions regimes imposed by the United Nations, the European Commission and in the UK by the Department of Business Innovation & Skills and HM Treasury. Some Sanctions are longstanding but more recently sanctions have become targeted and are increasingly the policy of choice for governments seeking redress against members of the international community who disregard the agreed norms and standards of international conduct.
The briefing will bring together a select group of national and international experts to review existing sanctions regimes against Russia, Libya, Syria and Iran to highlight risks to shipping companies and insurers and to analyse recent case histories and share valuable lessons learned.
This free event is open to all members and will be followed by drinks and canapés.
