Congratulations to the Baltic Exchange Cricket team on winning its opening match of the season against Lloyd’s to retain the Saint Mary Axe Trophy. Having lost the toss and put into bat the Baltic got off to a good start with 70-0 off the first 10 overs, the run rate stayed at 7’s throughout the innings finishing on 276-8 off 35 overs. The main contributors were Justin Granger 100, Charlie Russell (Hartland Shipping) 79 and Alastair Lewis (Clarksons) 45 not out.
Lloyd’s never quite managed to keep up with the run rate and lost wickets at regular intervals. The majority of damage done by Will Halliday (Arch Coal) with 3-15 and good support from Will Marks (MTI Network) 1-22 and George Corry (Thurlestone) 1-17.
