Members will learn with regret of the recent death of Mr A J Kazantzis. Mr Kazantzis was elected a member of the Baltic Exchange in June 1960 representing Loucas Nomicos (England) Co Ltd. In 1999 he became a Sole Trader. Details of his funeral are awaited.
Members will note with regret of the death of Loucas Fafalios of Fafalios Shipping SA has passed away. Mr Fafalios had been a member of the Baltic Exchange since 2009.

Following an election which closed 28 March, Catharine Bacon of Cargill plc will, be joining the Board of Directors of the Baltic Exchange as a Ballot Director in place of Charles Fowle at the conclusion of the next Annual General Meeting on 10 July 2014.
Arising from the retirement by rotation of shareholder Directors, there will be two vacancies on the Board at the next Annual General Meeting. Liquefied natural gas may not be the ‘fuel of the future’ it purports to be and hydrogen may take on a more significant role in fuel choices in the future, according to a comprehensive modelling report from Lloyd’s Register.
